REDUCE GLOBAL CARBON EMISSIONS

Learn and discover what you can do to easily reduce the world’s carbon emissions and make the world a better place.

Animal agriculture is responsible for 1318% of human-caused greenhouse gasemissions globally, petroleum combustion for energy and transportation is responsible for approximately 64%.

We started this site as a way to showcase how we can indivually make changes to our personal life for the benefit of our planet. If we all converted to a vegetarian diet, the meat industry’s carbon footprint would stop and its carbon emissions would cease to exist, the leftover land and it’s colossal size could be used for planting trees and those trees would help in gradually making global warming perish. You can read more about this in our section about research.

As a way to demonstrate how easily such a goal as this can be achieved, four students of our group: Tiago, Luca, Daan and Martijn came up with the idea to follow an all-vegetarian diet for a month; They’ve never been a vegetarian before and this will be the first time in their lives in which they make such a drastic change to their diet. Their experience will be documented on a daily blog kept by each participant, which you can visit on the site. We hope that their blogs will provide the crucial insight that is needed to understand if such an important and necessary change in the world’s dietary course is achievable.

Besides also keeping a daily blog, the four participants will each add 3 individual recipes (breakfast, lunch and dinner) every sunday of this month-long experiment, which you can find in the section Sunday recipes. This is to showcase that cooking meat-free recipes is easy and accessible.
